Community Supported Agriculture [CSA]
With the dominance of large agribusinesses in North America, it's now more important than ever before to know where our food comes from. More and more people are realizing the value of becoming connected again with local food sources - the positive impact on our local economy, family farms, and the invaluable environmental benefits.
Community Supported Agriculture - or CSA - is an alternative way of purchasing healthy produce and supporting your local farmers. CSA members pay for a share of the harvest at the beginning of the growing season, and then pick up their very own box of delicious, organic, and local produce once a week. Paying for a share of a farm's harvest in advance helps farmers plan and budget for the year while minimizing the risks that are normally involved in farming. In exchange, CSA members receive a weekly supply of fresh and nutritious produce and the satisfaction of knowing where their food comes from!
Sign up for a share of healthy, certified organic produce. Being a part of our CSA program is a great opportunity to support your local farmer by purchasing produce for a whole season. We know that you care about where your food comes from, seasonal eating, and sustainability. Joining a CSA program is the perfect way to learn about the vital connections between food, health, local communities and the environment!

CSA FAQ.
Summer CSA
May - October
Weekly large share:
Large shares are typically better suited for families or households with more than two adults. Typically, a large share contains about double what a small share contains. Large shares also allow for more variety in the summer (which typically means more diversity in the fruit you might receive!).
Weekly small share:
Typically, a small share is fit for two veggie-eating adults and contains 6-10 items (enough to fill a regular sized grocery tote).
Winter CSA
November - April
Bi-weekly winter share [one size]:
Winter CSA shares typically contain more roots & vegetables. In your bi-weekly share, you can expect to receive farm fresh winter harvest items such as beets, carrots, onions, garlic, apples, potatoes, squash. Depending on how you cook, this CSA could suit an individual or a small family.
Other useful summer & winter CSA information can on our online store, on our blog, or on our social pages (links below):
Add Ons:
Every year, we also allow add-on options to your CSA shares freshly baked focaccia bread from Klippers Marketplace and artisan 5-grain sourdough from Row Fourteen.
We also allow/encourage add-ons to your CSA shares on more of an ad-hoc basis through our online store.
CSA Giveaway Program
"Farmers Supporting Families"
We are excited to announce that we are now accepting nominations and sponsorships for our 2023 CSA Giveaway Program, now called "Farmers Supporting Families." This program is an extension of our Community Supported Agriculture program and aims to provide CSA shares at no-cost to families and individuals in need.
Who Does This Program Support?
Our decision to focus on single-parent families stems from Annamarie's personal experience as a single mother to her first two children, Azalya and Brayden. With community wellbeing at the forefront of our minds, however, we are expanding our initiative from last year to now consider a wider variety low-income households and individuals in 2023. Communities we are currently supporting include Keremeos/Cawston, Summerland, and Vancouver.
2022 Recap:
Last year's program was a great success! Thanks to the support of our local community, we were able to raise enough funds to provide food for a total of thirteen single-parent families and a local soup kitchen from June to October 2022.
How Can I Get Involved?
If you know of a family or individual who could benefit from this program, please email us at klippersorg@gmail.com with a brief write-up outlining their need.
