COMMUNITY WORKSHOP ☺️ This Sunday, as part of the Art & Wine Crawl event, a workshop will be led by four members of the community, including two artists, someone from the LSCSS, and someone from OneSky. Although the workshop is geared toward youth and early years (0–6) everyone is welcome to join. From 12–2~, participants will have the opportunity to create Similkameen-inspired 'Earth Flags' using natural dyes and other natural items found in the valley. The goal of the project is to bring the community together to create an art installation that tells a story about our local area. The flags will be used to decorate our community, so come and join us in creating something beautiful! The workshop is free to attend, but please make sure to wear clothes that you don't mind getting messy! The event will be held just outside of Klippers Marketplace & Cafe. Tomorrow is International Women's Day, and we have a wonderful opportunity for you to make a difference while treating yourself in our store. ❤️☺️🌱🥕 Throughout the day tomorrow (March 8th, 2023), we’ll be donating 100% of our sales to our "Farmer's Supporting Families" program, which aims to provide no-cost produce to single-parent and low-income households in the Similkameen Valley. Last year, we launched our "Single-Parent CSA Giveaway Program" with the goal of supporting one local single-parent family, but we quickly realized the deeper need for food security in our community. Thanks to the generosity of our local community, we were able to raise enough funds to provide fresh produce to thirteen single-parent families and a local soup kitchen from June to October 2022. Although our program is primarily focused on supporting single-parent families, we are open to assessing the need in various areas. As well, we are currently working out details as to how this program will best support our community for years to come. One thing that’s for sure, is that the support of our local community really makes a difference!
